GRD Home Loans is a registered business name of The Trustee for MR NJD Trust (ABN 85 260 480 255).
Simplify Your Mortgage Pty Ltd (ACN 118 619 542) is trustee for the MR NJD Trust and holds Australian Credit Licence 387974.
In this Privacy Policy, GRD Home Loans, GRD, we, us and our refer to the GRD Home Loans business operated through this structure.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What personal information we collect
When you register your interest in a Group Rate Discount Home Loan, we only ask for information we need to understand your circumstances at a preliminary level and assess the potential group of borrowers available for refinancing.
This may include:
your first name;
your email address;
whether you are an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident;
the postcode of your primary property;
the number of properties you own;
the estimated value of your property portfolio;
your total home and/or investment loan balance;
the number of borrowers;
the employment type of each borrower; and
when you are looking to refinance.
We may also collect personal information you voluntarily provide when you contact us by email, make an enquiry, provide feedback or make a complaint.
Information we do not require when you register
Registering your interest with GRD Home Loans is not a home loan application.
At registration, we do not ask you to provide information normally required for a home loan application, such as your surname, date of birth, residential address, individual property addresses, employer details, income, living expenses, bank account details, home loan account numbers, identification documents, payslips, tax returns or bank statements.
If you later decide to apply for a Group Rate Discount Home Loan, the information and supporting documents required for the home loan application will be provided directly to the lender, not GRD Home Loans.
Why we collect your information
We collect and use the information you provide to:
record and manage your registration of interest;
understand the number and characteristics of borrowers interested in refinancing;
understand the approximate value of home loans potentially available for refinancing as a group;
determine when there may be sufficient borrower interest to create meaningful bargaining power with lenders;
assess preliminary eligibility for a Group Rate Discount Home Loan;
communicate with you about your registration;
tell you when a Group Rate Discount Home Loan or other relevant refinancing option becomes available;
respond to enquiries, privacy requests or complaints; and
comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
We will not use your personal information for an unrelated purpose unless permitted or required by law.
How we collect your information
We generally collect personal information directly from you.
This may occur when you:
complete a registration form on the GRD Home Loans website;
communicate with us by email; or
otherwise provide information directly to us.
Information submitted through the GRD Home Loans website registration form is transmitted securely using Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) encryption.
Our website provider, VentraIP, has advised us that information submitted through a VIPsites form is not retained within the website. The submitted information is used to generate an email containing the information provided in the form.
How we hold and protect your information
GRD Home Loans takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Registration information submitted through our website is transmitted to the nominated GRD Home Loans email address rather than being retained in the VIPsites website.
We use business email and information technology systems to receive and manage communications and take reasonable steps to protect the personal information held within those systems.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach involving personal information, we will respond in accordance with our obligations under applicable privacy laws.

When GRD approaches lenders to negotiate a Group Rate Discount Home Loan, we may use aggregated information about the group, such as the approximate number of borrowers and combined value of loans potentially available for refinancing.
Where reasonably practicable, this information will be presented in a way that does not identify individual borrowers.
If you decide to proceed with a home loan following a GRD offer, you will provide the information required for your home loan application directly to the lender.
Overseas disclosure
Our website is hosted by VentraIP, an Australian provider using Australian-based hosting infrastructure for the GRD Home Loans website.
Some technology or service providers used in operating the business may process or store information using infrastructure located outside Australia.
Where personal information is disclosed to an overseas recipient, we will manage that disclosure in accordance with applicable requirements of the Australian Privacy Principles.
Marketing communications
Registering your interest allows us to communicate with you about your GRD registration, Group Rate Discount Home Loans and relevant refinancing opportunities.
